“My vision for this church includes being able to attract more families with children, and becoming more visible to the community. I see this church as a living, vibrant center of Truth, Love, Hope, Learning, Service and Growth.”

CAMMIE NEWTON, President

Most of you probably know me best as the mother of the red-haired angel you see winging around here on Sunday. I have been attending this Church for over 14 years. I am a member of the Outreach Team, have been active in the Youth Education department, and have been serving on the Board of Trustees for more than 3 years.

I am a Librarian (MLS) at the Library Center at City Island. I am in charge of the Children’s Section, where I enjoy the opportunity to help develop a love of reading through story times, puppet shows, and other programs for children. I have been active in all of my daughter’s schools, including serving on the Board at her preschool.

I am honored to be nominated for a possible position on the Board of Trustees. I see Unity as a very special family, one that has helped me considerably on my journey. I like the vision of each person developing their own relationship with Spirit, and following their own plan. I am very excited to have such a wonderful learning home for my daughter to grow up in.

My vision for this church includes being able to attract more families with children, and becoming more visible to the community. I see this church as a living, vibrant center of Truth, Love, Hope, Learning, Service and Growth. It has been a wonderful learning and growth experience for me to learn first-hand how the Church operates and to help move forward. If elected, I will continue to do my best to conduct Church business in accordance with Unity principles.

Thank you for allowing me to be considered for a chance to further serve this Church.

John Olivero

“I started coming to Unity of Daytona Beach about 3 years ago and my spiritual growth since then has been a blessing.”

JOHN OLIVERO, Vice President

I was born in Yonkers, NY and my family moved to Miami, FL when I was 5. I was raised Roman Catholic. After high school, I attended Florida State University. I married my high school sweetheart, Kathleen; a marriage that has lasted more than half a century. After college, I joined NASA at the Langley Research Center. I was enabled and encouraged to work on an M.S. degree at William & Mary. From there we moved to the University of Michigan for my doctoral studies. Afterwards I did a Postdoctoral appointment at the University of Florida for a couple of years. Along the way we had 4 wonderful children who are all grown up now.

Most of my working career has been as a faculty member – 21 years at Penn State and 20 years here at Embry-Riddle. I am due to retire in May of this year.

I started coming to Unity of Daytona Beach about 3 years ago and my spiritual growth since then has been a blessing. I have participated in most of the classes and attended most of the presentations since joining Unity.

Royce Ulibarri, Member

Royce, along with his daughter, Maya, has been attending Unity for eight years. He and his soulmate, Daphne Denton, feel that coming to Unity is the joy and sunshine of their weekend and he is truly thankful for his church home.

Royce grew up in the Daytona Beach area, was a graduate of Mainland High School and earned his BA in Business Administration from UCF. He is a 15-year employee of AT&T and is serving his third term as president of the union. When he and his officers took over, the union was in serious financial trouble. They reorganized, increased membership and now have 100K in assets.

Deborah Zeoli, Member

Originally from Connecticut, Deborah currently resides in Daytona Beach. Her two daughters, two stepchildren and three step grandchildren are the joy in her and her husband’s, Ron Guilemette, life. Deborah joined the UDB family in January of 2013, and Ron joined in August of that year.

As a stay-at-home parent while her children were in school, Deborah was provided with a wealth of volunteering opportunities: Girl Scouts, band parent, PTA and her homeowners association, most with leadership roles.

Deborah retired in the fall of 2014 from a 17-year career in executive management positions for a behavioral health provider and was the project manager for planning, fundraising and building of a new treatment facility, which spanned five years and was completed in 2012.

She has spent the past year relaxing, refreshing and enjoying life and is looking forward to using her time and talents serving on the Board of Trustees.

Currently, Deborah serves on the Media Team and is working on projects with the minister and staff to enhance the church entrance and improve workflow for administrative staff.
