Prayer Chaplain Coordinator
My formal education, certifications and career experiences as a secondary teacher and public school administrator have helped me develop skills that I apply in my position as Prayer Chaplain Coordinator. The Prayer Chaplain Coordinator plans and provides initial, intense training once a year for all chaplains, plus monthly training and on-going support for the Prayer Chaplain Team. Members of the team are assigned a group of church members to contact monthly for individual prayers. They are also available to pray after church services and whenever they are needed for support. We welcome new members who have the desire to selflessly serve others by holding spiritual space, by praying with and for those brought forward for prayer, and by holding in confidence all that is shared.
Youth Education Director
I have been the director of the Youth Education Ministry here at Unity of Daytona Beach for almost five years. Over the years I have taught Sunday School at many age levels, and I have directed Vacation Bible Schools in both Pennsylvania and Florida. In addition to my work with children in a church setting, I have been a Girl Scout leader as well as a Cub Scout den leader. I attended Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.
My position as Administrative Assistant and Special Events Coordinator is important to me, as it gives me the opportunity to work with all members and guests of Unity of Daytona Beach. My extensive experience in office administration with the Volusia County School Board, the Florida Senate and other churches has provided me with many skills for serving our church community. I love working with our ministers and other staff members to support the administrative side of our church. I feel very blessed to assist all who come to Unity of Daytona Beach in having a joyful experience with us.
Prior to starting at Unity of Daytona Beach in 2012, I served as music director at Christ Church Unity in Edgewater, Florida, from 2001 to 2008. For many years I have also enjoyed singing as part of several community choruses in the area. My primary role as music director is to lead the choir, the congregation and our musicians in sacred song. I also collaborate with the senior minister to ensure that music used during church services reflects a broad selection of spiritual and inspirational music.
