Cammie Newton, President

Cammie has been attending Unity of Daytona Beach for over 14 years and joined the Board of Trustees to “give back to the community that has nurtured me and changed my entire outlook on life.” Professionally, Cammie is a librarian at the Library Center at City Island, where she runs the Children’s Section. Cammie is passionate about children and families. “I find myself drawn to outreach projects, especially because of the children we serve in our community. I envision a brighter future for them, and the teachings of Unity are truly transforming the whole world,” says Cammie. “My vision for this church includes attracting more young families and becoming more visible to the community as a vibrant, thriving, welcoming space for learning and growing.”

Nelson Shreve, Treasurer

Nelson is a Vietnam veteran with one daughter and three grandsons. Ellen, his wife of over three years, introduced him to Unity of Daytona Beach, where he has now been a member for several years. Along with his professional career in business management, Nelson is a member of the American Legion and was a vice commander for two years and served on the executive board for six years. Nelson became a Board member simply “to serve the people of our church,” and his passion is to “be an inspiration for others” by demonstrating what a “friendly, loving community we are.” Nelson adds that, “I would like to see all the seats filled at our 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services every Sunday.”

Royce Ulibarri, Member

Royce and his daughter, Maya, have been attending Unity of Daytona Beach for eight years. He and his soulmate, Daphne Denton, feel that “coming to Unity is the joy and sunshine of our weekend.” Royce grew up in the Daytona Beach area and graduated from Mainland High School and the University of Central Florida. He is a 15-year employee of AT&T and is serving his third term as president of the union. Royce joined the Board of Trustees in order to use his business and financial skills to help the church prosper and grow in strength and membership. “After all,” jokes Royce, “community service isn’t just for celebrities anymore.” Royce envisions our church “becoming the most dynamic, Spirit-led church in Volusia County.”

John Olivero, Vice President

Since joining Unity of Daytona Beach along with Kathleen, his childhood sweetheart and wife of nearly a half century, John has been an active member of our church — including singing in the choir, while also “participating in most of the classes and attending most of the presentations.” John joined the Board of Trustees because of his desire to serve our church community using his “rich background in science, education and public leadership.” John worked at NASA at the Langley Research Center before becoming a professor of physics — teaching 21 years at Penn State and 20 years at Embry-Riddle here in Daytona Beach. John’s vision for our church is to help “build the consciousness of love, peace, and abundance throughout our community, our nation, and the world.”

Deborah Zeoli, Member

Originally from Connecticut, Deborah and her husband Ron Guilmette joined the Unity of Daytona Beach church family in 2013. As a climax to her 17-year career in the behavioral health field, Deborah was executive project manager for the planning, fundraising and building of a new treatment facility in the Daytona Beach area. Deborah joined the Board of Trustees “to serve my community.” She envisions our church as “a joyful community that continues to grow and bring more and more people together. As more people gather on a positive path for spiritual living, that joy is amplified and spread throughout the world.” Deborah adds, “My passion is learning. Through self-study, being taught, experience, and group-study I can gain a better understanding of this journey called living.”
